By The ABRicate contributors
About ABRicate
ABRicate searches DNA sequence contigs for acquired antimicrobial resistance or virulence genes. It includes several gene databases and writes results as a tab-separated file.
The tool requires BLAST+ and other dependencies. It accepts sequence files convertible to FASTA, but does not support raw FASTQ reads or detect point mutations.
Strengths
- Includes multiple gene databases
- Accepts several sequence file formats
- Writes tab-separated results
Limitations
- Does not accept raw FASTQ reads
- Detects acquired genes, not point mutations
- Requires BLAST+ and other dependencies
