About Anchorpoint

Anchorpoint is a version control app built on Git for game development, 3D and other real-time projects. It adds binary file support and no repository size limits, so teams can work on very large Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot and art projects, and artists can commit changes with a simple two-button interface.

Because it uses Git, it connects to existing servers such as GitHub, self-hosted GitLab, Azure DevOps and Gitea, and developers can keep using other Git clients alongside it. It also offers asset review and approval, plus an API.

Strengths

  • Git with large binary file support and no repository limits
  • Simple interface aimed at artists
  • Works with GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and Gitea
  • Integrations for Unreal, Unity and Godot workflows

Limitations

  • Aimed at game and 3D production rather than general code work
  • Commercial product with paid plans
