About App Tamer

App Tamer targets apps that keep using the processor when you are not using them, such as browsers animating ads. From its menu bar icon you pick a busy app and tell App Tamer to slow or stop it, and it then throttles or pauses that app automatically whenever it is in the background.

It comes preconfigured for Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Spotlight, Time Machine, Photoshop, Word and others. On Apple Silicon Macs it can move busy background apps onto the efficiency cores to save power.
