About Authelia
Authelia sits behind nginx, Traefik, Caddy or HAProxy and authenticates requests before they reach an application, adding a login portal, two-factor authentication, access-control rules per domain and path, and OpenID Connect provider support. It stores users in a file or in LDAP.
Strengths
- Puts authentication and 2FA in front of applications that have none
- Fine-grained rules per domain, path, user and group
Limitations
- Requires a supported reverse proxy configured correctly to be secure
- Configuration is a large YAML file with many interacting options
