About BIND 9
BIND 9 is a classic, full-featured DNS implementation maintained by Internet Systems Consortium, with DNSSEC support. Besides the name server itself, it ships the dig command, a widely used command-line tool for querying DNS servers and inspecting the records they return.
Administrators use dig to troubleshoot resolution, check records after a change and verify DNSSEC, while the server side can be run to host authoritative zones or resolve names. Source code and issues are kept in ISC's public GitLab repository under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
