About CAA Test

CAA Test is a single-purpose web page for checking DNS Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) records. CAA records let a domain owner name the certificate authorities that are allowed to issue certificates for that domain. You enter a domain and the tool looks up its CAA records.

The page does not generate records itself. It points to SSLMate for building CAA records and to SSL Labs for testing a full TLS configuration. It suits administrators who want to confirm a CAA change has taken effect.

Strengths

  • Does one job with a single input field
  • Brief explanation of what CAA records are for
  • Points to related tools for generating records and full TLS testing

Limitations

  • Only checks CAA records, not the rest of a TLS setup
  • Cannot generate CAA records itself
