Cheese Paper is a text editor for long-form prose, especially fiction. Projects are organized into scenes with notes and summaries, plus separate files for characters and worldbuilding. The underlying text uses Markdown with metadata in a TOML header.
Project files can be edited outside the app and synced with tools such as Syncthing or Nextcloud. Cheese Paper can export an outline or combine scenes into a Markdown file for conversion to formats such as EPUB, DOCX, HTML, or PDF.

- Uses editable Markdown files with TOML metadata
- Can reload project changes made by syncing tools
