About CLIPS
CLIPS, the C Language Integrated Production System, is a rule-based programming language for expert systems and other programs where a heuristic solution is easier to maintain than an algorithmic one. It was developed at NASA's Johnson Space Center from 1985 to 1996 and has been public domain since 1996.
Written in C for portability, it runs on many platforms and ships with integrated development environments. Guides for version 6.4.2 cover the language, C APIs and the IDEs, and a game-based tutorial book was published in 2022.
