Coreinfo shows how the logical processors in a Windows machine map to physical cores, NUMA nodes and sockets, and which caches each logical processor uses. The command-line versions (Coreinfo, Coreinfo64, Coreinfo64a) print the mapping as rows of asterisks. The CoreInfoEx graphical version adds views for cores, NUMA nodes, sockets, CPU features, NUMA memory access costs and core-to-core distances.
It also lists supported instruction sets and virtualization features, and on hybrid CPUs it tells performance cores apart from efficiency cores. It suits developers and administrators who are tuning thread placement or checking what a processor supports.
Strengths
- Shows the mapping of logical processors to cores, NUMA nodes, sockets and caches
- Both command-line and graphical versions in one download
- Heat maps of NUMA memory access costs and core-to-core distances
- Identifies P-cores and E-cores on hybrid processors
Limitations
- Windows only
- Virtualization features can be misreported when a hypervisor is running or inside a virtual machine
- Some information needs administrative privileges
