Damus is a client for Nostr, a decentralised social protocol. Creating an account does not require a phone number, email address or name; your identity is a cryptographic key you own. There are no ads or engagement-driven algorithms.
It supports tipping friends and creators with Bitcoin and Lightning. Apps are available for iOS and Android, and Notedeck is the desktop client. An optional paid Purple membership supports the project and adds extra benefits.
