Discover Overlay is a GTK3 overlay written in Python that sits on top of other windows on a Linux desktop. It can show who is currently speaking in a Discord voice chat, or display text and images from a chosen channel, and can be positioned anywhere on the screen.
It was created because the official Discord client offers limited overlay support on Linux. It supports X11 and wlroots-based Wayland environments, can be used on the Steam Deck, and aims to be lighter on resources than older overlay projects.
