About DNSChecker

DNSChecker queries a domain against public DNS resolvers around the world and shows which ones return the new value. This is useful after you change records or name servers. It supports A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, PTR, SRV, SOA, TXT, CAA, DS and DNSKEY lookups.

You can set an expected value to match exactly, by substring or by regular expression, and have the results refresh automatically. The resolvers include Google, Cloudflare, Quad9 and OpenDNS as well as ISP servers across several continents.

Strengths

  • Shows results from many resolvers in different countries at once
  • Covers a wide range of record types, including DNSSEC records
  • Expected-value matching with regular expressions
  • Automatic refresh while waiting for changes

Limitations

  • Shows what resolvers return but does not diagnose configuration errors
