About Double Commander
Double Commander puts two directory panes side by side, or one above the other, and gives you the keyboard-driven workflow Total Commander users know: copy and move between panes, tabs, a multi-rename tool, file comparison, and background operations that do not block the window.
It reads archives as if they were folders, has built-in FTP, and supports plugins in several of Total Commander's formats. The important difference is that it is free, open source, and available for Linux and macOS as well as Windows.
