About Easy Effects

Easy Effects applies a chain of effects to everything your Linux desktop plays, or to a microphone input. The list runs from the ordinary (equaliser, compressor, limiter, gate) to the specific (convolver for impulse responses, crossfeed for headphones, de-esser, voice suppressor, autogain), and you drag them into whatever order you want.

It was called PulseEffects until it dropped GStreamer for native PipeWire filters, and the interface has since moved from GTK to Qt and Kirigami. Some effects need extra plugin packages that distributions do not always install by default, so a missing effect usually means a missing dependency rather than a bug.

Note that the project warns the site easyeffects.org is not theirs and is probably a scam; the real home is the GitHub project page.
