About Elastic Stack
The Elastic Stack, also known as the ELK Stack, bundles Elasticsearch, Logstash, Beats and Kibana. Logstash and Beats take in data from many sources and formats. Elasticsearch is a distributed, JSON-based search and analytics engine that stores and indexes it. Kibana is the interface for searching, analyzing and visualizing the results.
The components can be downloaded and run on your own servers, and Elastic also offers a hosted trial. Machine learning, security and reporting features are layered on top. It suits teams that need central log analytics and are willing to run and maintain several services.
