About Eraser

Eraser is a Windows utility for deleting data so it cannot easily be recovered. Instead of relying on the normal delete command, which leaves file contents on the disk, it overwrites the data of the files you choose.

It can also wipe a drive's free space, which clears the remains of files that were deleted earlier in the usual way. That makes it useful before selling or passing on a computer, or when you want sensitive documents truly gone.
