About Felt

Felt is a cloud-based GIS that runs in the browser. You drag and drop files in many formats and Felt geocodes street addresses, matches boundaries and parses geometry columns so the data appears on a map without manual cleanup. Maps can be edited together and shared as interactive maps, apps or dashboards.

It also includes Felt AI, which lets you ask a question and get a map in response. Felt suits teams and individuals who need quick, shareable maps without desktop GIS software, with a free starting tier and paid plans for organisations.

Strengths

  • Drag-and-drop import of many file formats
  • Automatic geocoding and boundary matching
  • Real-time collaboration and shareable maps
  • No installation needed

Limitations

  • Cloud only, so data is stored on Felt's servers
  • Proprietary service
  • Advanced features aimed at paid organisation plans
