About Fly-Pie

Fly-Pie is an extension for GNOME Shell that opens marking menus: circular pie menus that you trigger with a shortcut and navigate with the mouse, a pen or the keyboard. Menus can launch applications and run actions, and you build your own layouts or start from the included presets.

It is aimed at GNOME users who prefer gesture-style selection to typing. The developer has put Fly-Pie into low-maintenance mode while working on a follow-up project, Kando, so new features are unlikely.

Strengths

  • Pie menus you can select from quickly with gestures
  • Customizable menus with presets
  • Integrates directly into GNOME Shell

Limitations

  • Low-maintenance mode; the developer's focus is now Kando
  • Works only with GNOME Shell
