FMIT analyzes live audio to estimate a signal's fundamental frequency and compare it with notes in a tuning scale. It can show frequency and volume history, waveform period, harmonics, and a discrete Fourier transform.
The tuner supports microtonal scales in Scala format and offers statistics and several sound input systems, including ALSA, JACK, OSS, and PortAudio.
Strengths
- Analyzes fundamental frequency in real time
- Supports microtonal tuning with Scala files
- Offers waveform, harmonics, and DFT views
Limitations
- Requires an audio input device for live tuning
