About Geany

Geany sits between a text editor and a full IDE. It has syntax highlighting for a long list of languages, code folding, symbol lists, autocompletion, a build system you can point at any compiler, and a plugin interface, but it loads in a fraction of a second and uses very little memory.

It only depends on GTK, so on Linux it does not pull in half of KDE or GNOME. That makes it a standard choice on older hardware, small single-board computers and minimal desktop setups where a Java or Electron IDE is out of the question.
