About IPFire
IPFire is an open-source firewall distribution based on Linux that you install on a machine at the edge of your network. It uses stateful packet inspection, can split a network into DMZs, guest networks and separate trust zones, and supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec VPNs out of the box.
Everything is managed from a web console with dashboards and traffic graphs. The project ships regular core updates; IPFire 2.29 Core Update 203 was released on July 20. It suits home lab users and small organisations that want a self-built firewall.
