About JShelter
JShelter modifies the JavaScript APIs pages can reach, adding noise or restricting precision for the interfaces most used in fingerprinting, and includes a network boundary shield against requests from public pages to local addresses. Protection levels are adjustable per site.
Strengths
- Targets fingerprinting APIs specifically instead of blocking scripts wholesale
- Network boundary shield blocks public pages probing your local network
Limitations
- Stronger levels break sites that legitimately use the affected APIs
- Adding noise can itself make a browser more distinctive in some cases
