About Kasm Workspaces

Kasm Workspaces runs Linux desktops, Windows desktops, applications and browsers in containers and streams them to a web browser on any device. Uses include browser isolation, OSINT research without revealing your identity, and remote desktops for staff.

You can install it yourself from the downloads page, with Ansible and Terraform deployment code published on GitHub, and try a live demo on the website. It is built mainly for organisations, but the container-based approach also suits homelab users.

Strengths

  • Streams full desktops and single apps to a browser
  • Container isolation for risky browsing
  • Deployment automation with Ansible and Terraform
  • Live demo available without installing

Limitations

  • Built mainly for organisations
  • Needs a server with container support
