About Killercoda

Killercoda gives you live environments to use in the browser. Its playgrounds provide empty base systems, such as Linux machines and Kubernetes clusters, that you can work in without setting anything up on your own computer.

Community creators publish guided scenarios on top of these environments, including practice material for certifications such as CKA, CKAD, CKS and LFCS. It is often used as a replacement for the discontinued Katacoda service and suits people learning DevOps, Linux, Kubernetes or Git by doing.

Strengths

  • Ready-made Linux and Kubernetes environments with nothing to install
  • Scenarios for Kubernetes and Linux certification practice
  • Community creators publish their own interactive scenarios

Limitations

  • Needs an internet connection and runs on someone else's servers
  • Scenario quality depends on the individual creator
