About MapOSMatic

MapOSMatic is a free software web service for generating maps of cities from OpenStreetMap data. You choose an area and it renders a map ready for printing, available as PNG, PDF or SVG. Because the data comes from OpenStreetMap, the resulting maps can be reused, sold or modified under the OpenStreetMap license.

The site shows the status of its rendering daemon and GIS database, and the data can lag behind OpenStreetMap by a few weeks. It suits anyone who needs a paper map of a town for an event, a guide or a walk.

Strengths

  • Exports print-ready maps as PNG, PDF and SVG
  • Generated maps can be reused under the OpenStreetMap license
  • Interface available in many languages

Limitations

  • Map data can be several weeks behind OpenStreetMap
  • Project news is infrequent
