About MassReplaceIt
MassReplaceIt is a macOS utility for find and replace across many files at once. It searches file contents or filenames, previews changes before applying them, and can undo changes from earlier searches. Filters on file attributes narrow which files are touched, and regular expressions and macros cover more complex jobs.
Typical uses include removing text from filenames, replacing text throughout a website and numbering files. Version 4.0, released in April 2026, added Apple Silicon support, folder hierarchies in file lists and folders for saved searches. Older versions remain available for earlier Mac OS X releases.
