About NetBSD
NetBSD is an open source Unix-like operating system known for portability. Install media are provided for amd64, i386, ARM boards such as the Raspberry Pi and PINE64, MIPS routers, PowerPC systems including the Nintendo Wii, SPARC64, and older machines such as Amiga, VAX and Dreamcast.
Version 11.0, the nineteenth major release, came out on July 30, 2026. It suits servers, desktops and embedded devices, and anyone who wants a clean Unix system on unusual or older hardware.
