About No-IP
No-IP is a long-running dynamic DNS provider. A free hostname on domains such as ddns.net, hopto.org or zapto.org follows a changing IP address, so cameras, servers and other devices at home stay reachable by name. An update client is available from the download page.
Paid plans add managed DNS on an Anycast network, domain registration and SSL certificates. The Enhanced plan includes Public Tunnels, which provides remote access without port forwarding. It suits both home users and businesses.
Strengths
- Free hostnames on many shared domains
- Downloadable update client
- Public Tunnels for access without port forwarding
Limitations
- Useful extras are in paid plans
