About objdiff
objdiff compares functions and data in a reconstructed object file with the original target. It can watch source changes, rebuild the new object automatically and show the remaining instruction differences.
The project supports ARM, ARM64, MIPS, PowerPC, SuperH and x86 object files, with C++ symbol demangling and decompilation progress reports. Windows, macOS and Linux builds include a graphical interface and a command-line tool.
Strengths
- Compares both functions and data in object files
- Rebuilds and compares automatically when source changes
- Supports several console and desktop CPU architectures
Limitations
- Needs original target objects and a configured build environment
- Compares compiled output rather than recovering source code by itself
