About OfflineIMAP
OfflineIMAP mirrors IMAP mailboxes to local Maildir directories and pushes local changes back, so mail can be read offline or with terminal clients such as mutt and notmuch. Synchronisation is two-way and configurable per folder.
Strengths
- Two-way sync into plain Maildir, which any local mail client can read
- Per-folder rules and filters for what gets mirrored
Limitations
- Python performance is poor on very large mailboxes
- Configuration is a hand-written file with many options
