About Open Hardware Monitor
Open Hardware Monitor reads CPU and GPU temperatures, fan speeds, voltages, load and clock speeds and shows them in a list, a desktop gadget or the system tray. It is the project that Libre Hardware Monitor later forked from.
Strengths
- Open source, so the sensor handling can be inspected and reused
- Readings can sit in the tray or a desktop gadget
Limitations
- Upstream development stopped years ago; Libre Hardware Monitor is the maintained fork
- Newer chipsets and sensors are frequently unrecognised
