About OpenHistoricalMap

OpenHistoricalMap is a sister project to OpenStreetMap that maps how the world looked at different points in history rather than today. Anyone can browse the map in a browser, and contributors can edit it with time-aware tools to record features such as past borders, roads and buildings.

The map data is dedicated to the public domain except where noted. The project is a charter project of OpenStreetMap U.S., a nonprofit affiliated with the OpenStreetMap Foundation, with technical development supported by GreenInfo Network and Development Seed. It suits historians, teachers and mappers who already know OpenStreetMap.
