About OpenMapTiles
OpenMapTiles provides a vector tile schema, ready-to-use map styles and tools for generating vector tiles from OpenStreetMap data. The resulting maps work with MapLibre GL, Leaflet, OpenLayers, GIS software and WMTS clients, and can be displayed in many languages.
The project is maintained by MapTiler, which also sells hosted maps, premium styles and professional support. It suits developers and organisations that want to host their own base map instead of relying on a commercial tile provider.
Strengths
- Documented vector tile schema used by many projects
- Several free open-source map styles
- Works with MapLibre GL, Leaflet and OpenLayers
- Multilingual map labels
