About OpenSeaMap
OpenSeaMap is a free nautical chart edited on the wiki principle and layered on top of OpenStreetMap. It adds seamarks, lights, harbours and water depth data, and the website offers an interactive chart with a full-screen view and ship tracking.
Chart downloads are available for use elsewhere, including MBTiles for OpenCPN and maps for Garmin and Lowrance plotters. Anyone can contribute by editing the map, for example with JOSM. It suits sailors and paddlers who want free charts.
