About OpenWebStart
Oracle deprecated Java Web Start in Java 9 and removed it from the JDK in Java 11, which left applications launched from JNLP files without a supported way to run. OpenWebStart reimplements the most commonly used parts of Java Web Start and the JNLP standard so those applications keep working with newer Java versions.
It is developed by Karakun with the help of sponsors. The software is free to use, and paid support options are offered to companies migrating Java desktop applications.
