About Passbolt
Passbolt shares credentials between team members by encrypting each secret to the OpenPGP key of everyone allowed to see it, with a browser extension doing the decryption locally. The community edition is free to self-host; paid editions add directory sync, audit logs and support.
Strengths
- Per-user OpenPGP encryption means the server never holds readable secrets
- Community edition is free to self-host without user limits
Limitations
- Directory sync, audit logs and enterprise features are paid
- Key-based recovery is unforgiving if a user loses their private key
