pgloader loads data into PostgreSQL from files and other databases, using PostgreSQL's COPY command. It continues loading valid rows when it encounters rejected data and can reformat values during migration.
Version 4 is distributed as a self-contained JAR and requires Java 21 or later. It accepts the same load-file syntax and command-line flags as version 3.
Strengths
- Loads data from databases and files into PostgreSQL
- Continues loading good rows when other rows are rejected
- Can reformat data during migration
Limitations
- Version 4 requires Java 21 or later
- Loads data into PostgreSQL rather than serving as a general database migration tool
