About Photon
Photon turns place names into coordinates and back again using OpenStreetMap data. It offers typeahead suggestions, typo tolerance, multilingual results, reverse geocoding and priority to a given location, and returns results as GeoJSON through a simple HTTP API.
You can run your own instance, or use the public API at photon.komoot.io for fair use; heavy use of the public service is throttled and availability is not guaranteed. It suits developers who need address search for a map or app.
