About Photon OS
Photon OS is an open source Linux operating system built as a lightweight container host and appliance platform. It runs on bare metal, on hypervisors such as VMware ESXi, and in public clouds, and can serve as a Kubernetes node or a development environment. Packages are RPMs managed with tdnf.
ISO images offer minimal or full installation and support PXE and kickstart for automated installs. There are also OVA appliances, images for x86, ARM64 and Raspberry Pi, and cloud images for AWS, GCE and Azure.
