About Pocket ID
Pocket ID is a certified OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0 provider built around passkeys, intended to put a single sign-in in front of self-hosted applications without running a full identity platform. It is deliberately minimal: users, clients and passkeys, and nothing else.
Strengths
- Passkey-only sign-in with no passwords to manage or leak
- Far simpler to run than a full identity platform for a handful of apps
Limitations
- Only works with applications that speak OpenID Connect
- No LDAP, SAML or password fallback by design
