About Privoxy
Privoxy sits between your browser and the web as a local proxy. It can modify web page data and HTTP headers, control access, and strip ads and other unwanted content. Its configuration is flexible and can be adjusted in detail, and it works both on a single machine and for a multi-user network.
The project is free software under the GNU GPLv2 or later and an associated project of Software in the Public Interest. The current stable release is 4.2.0. Binary packages are built by individual project members and contributors rather than a trusted build system.
