About REA
REA, short for Reverse Engineer Anything, gives coding agents access to local analysis tools. Native binary analysis uses Hopper, Ghidra or IDA; other workflows inspect JavaScript and Electron apps, .NET assemblies, Android packages, websites and process behavior.
Analysis runs locally, and the agent receives the resulting evidence. REA does not supply the coding model or replace its analysis providers. Availability varies by provider, operating system, dependencies and the released package version.
Strengths
- Works as an MCP server or a terminal tool
- Connects agents to native disassemblers and application analysis
- Returns evidence and limitations alongside analysis results
Limitations
- Native analysis requires a supported analysis provider
- Coding agents and commercial providers can incur separate costs
- Some platform support is experimental and dependencies vary
