RTMPDump is a toolkit for working with RTMP streams. It supports every form of the protocol, including rtmp, rtmpt, rtmpe, rtmpte and rtmps, and also ships rtmpgw. The protocol code is available separately as librtmp under the LGPL, which other applications can use.
It is distributed as source from the FFmpeg git server, with tar archives and some Windows binaries in the download directory. Building with all features needs a cryptography library such as OpenSSL, GnuTLS or PolarSSL, plus zlib.
Strengths
- Supports all RTMP variants including encrypted ones
- Reusable librtmp library
- Choice of OpenSSL, GnuTLS or PolarSSL
Limitations
- Releases are infrequent and mostly via git
- Command line only
- RTMP is a legacy streaming protocol
