About Rufus
Rufus formats a USB stick and writes a bootable image to it, quickly and with sensible defaults. It creates BIOS or UEFI bootable drives from ISOs and disk images, formats to FAT, FAT32, NTFS, UDF, exFAT, ReFS, ext2 or ext3, and makes DOS bootable drives with FreeDOS.
The feature most people arrive for is the Windows 11 install drive that skips the TPM and Secure Boot checks, along with the setup options that create a local account and turn off the privacy questions. It also builds Windows To Go drives, persistent Linux partitions and VHD or FFU images of an existing drive.
