About Shizuku
Shizuku starts a process with shell or root privileges and lets participating apps call system APIs through it directly, instead of shelling out to commands. It can be started over wireless debugging with no PC and no root, which is what makes rootless debloaters and automation tools possible.
Strengths
- Rootless elevated access that does not require unlocking the bootloader
- Apps call system APIs directly, which is far faster and more reliable than shell parsing
Limitations
- The service must be restarted after every reboot unless the device is rooted
- Only apps that specifically support Shizuku benefit
