About Sigil

Sigil edits EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 books directly. You can work in a visual view or straight in the XHTML, with a table of contents editor, metadata editor, spell checking, regular expression search and replace across the whole book, and built-in validation to catch the problems that make a reader reject a file.

It is aimed at people producing or fixing ebooks rather than reading them, and it is the standard open tool for the job. It is built on Qt6 and QtWebEngine, has a plugin index hosted on MobileRead, and a full user guide. The developers direct questions to the MobileRead forum rather than the issue tracker.
