About simplewall
simplewall shows every application that wants network access and lets you allow or block it from a list, with no pop-up interrogations. It also has an internal block list aimed at Windows telemetry, logs dropped and allowed packets to a file, and supports IPv6, Windows services, Store apps and the Windows Subsystem for Linux.
It is under a megabyte and needs administrator rights. One thing to be clear about: it is not a front end for Windows Firewall. It talks directly to the Windows Filtering Platform underneath, which is a different set of rules entirely.
The project describes itself as definitely for advanced users, and the last release was August 2025.
