About Snowflake

Snowflake helps people reach the Tor network where Tor is blocked. It is built into Tor Browser, Orbot and Ricochet-Refresh, so users of those apps can switch it on when a normal connection fails.

Volunteers can donate bandwidth by installing the Snowflake browser extension for Firefox, Chrome or Edge; its icon turns green when a censored user connects through it. More technical users can run a standalone Snowflake proxy on a desktop or server from the command line, and site owners can embed a widget that lets visitors run a proxy.
