About Talos Linux
Talos Linux is a minimal operating system for running Kubernetes. It has no SSH, no shell and no package manager. The whole system is managed through an API and declarative configuration, so nodes cannot drift from their intended state. The OS has fewer than 50 binaries, a footprint of about 100MB and boots in around a minute.
It runs from bare metal to the edge and includes CIS hardening, mTLS, SELinux and trusted boot. The open-source edition is free under MPL-2.0. Talos Enterprise Linux is the same OS with FIPS 140-3 support, compliance artifacts and paid support.
