About ThrottleStop
ThrottleStop is a small Windows application that watches for and corrects the three main types of CPU throttling used on many laptops. It is aimed at Intel processors and is commonly used to undervolt a CPU and stop it from slowing down under load.
The program is distributed as a 1.7 MB zip file from TechPowerUp, with builds for Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7 in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The latest stable release is 9.7, from December 2024, and a 9.7.3 beta followed in April 2025.
